When working with laser systems of class 3R and higher, severe damage to the human eye can occur. The human eye can be permanently damaged by direct or indirect laser radiation. Retinal injuries mostly occur in the range of 400-1400 nm, while damage to the cornea or lens occurs in the UV range (190-400 nm).
