When working with laser systems of laser class 3R and higher, serious damage to the human eye can occur. The human eye can be permanently damaged by direct or indirect laser exposure. Retinal injuries usually occur in the range of 400-1400nm, while defects on the cornea or lens occur in the UV range (190-400nm). Therefore, it is essential to protect the eyes accordingly with suitable laser safety goggles. The laser safety goggles certified according to the valid standard DIN EN 207 (full protection) meet legal requirements and safely protect the eyes from dangerous laser radiation. Laser safety goggles and the filters contained therein are designed to absorb the specific energy of the laser.
